About Me

1996 - Present

Auckland born, NY raised, Indian origin.

Living in Forest Hills, Queens, visiting my parents in ABQ at least a few times per year, and traveling a bunch in between.

I'm a New Zealand born, Indian-American, that is a New Yorker above all. I live in NYC with my girlfriend, work in tech, run long distances (6 NYC Marathons, 7 total marathons, and #8 coming up this year), and am on a quest to get as good as I can at hitting a little yellow ball.

This site is a space for me to post longer form content about the things I am working on and care about, post some of my photography (when I have time for it), and connect with various communities.

If you need help with your business, I'm your guy. I have helped raise over $200M across 2 Series D+ companies, have worked on M&A activities, and have worked on every business size from 3 people in an IT closet to 1,000 people across 3 countries. I've been a first FP&A hire, led expansion work, and have done a little bit of practically everything outside of engineering. I serve as a First Round Fast Track mentor from time to time and also serve on the West Side Tennis Club's Finance and Tennis committees.

I can advise on anything from fundraising, to recruiting strategy, to general startup and scaling advice. You can either get in touch with me using the Contact button below, or find my VentureGuru profile here for formal advising arrangements. You can also follow along on my Substack for (hopefully) helpful finance tips and tricks I've picked up over the years.

On a completely different topic, if you want to play tennis with me or collab on something tennis related (sponsorships, brand work, etc), please reach out to me at Slice of Indy instead. Following the Slice of Indy Insta is greatly appreciated btw!

Looking forward to sharing more and connecting with as many of you as possible!

2019 - 2021

2018 - 2019

Sales and Expansion

NYC | Recruiting/HR Tech

I grew up terrified of the phone. Like unable to schedule my own appointments.

I did $200k+ in perm staffing deals in my first 3 months.

Sold the AngelList talent platform to startups in NYC, SF, and Boston, generating hundreds of thousands in placement fees. Led the platform's expansion into LA, generating a $1M+ run rate in a matter of months.

Now called Wellfound, AL Talent helped thousands of companies with their hiring needs, and fostered a global ecosystem of 8M+ startup-focused people across the globe.

2014 - 2018

Head of Finance

NYC | Recruiting/HR Tech

My intro to startups and where I really learned almost everything I use today. We were 4 people when I joined and nearly 30 when I left. One of the first 'e-staffing' hiring platforms, we helped generate thousands of interviews and hundreds of hires for startups in NYC and BOS.

InterviewJet was acquired and people from the team have gone on to work at companies like ScaleAI, The NYT, and the MLB.

2013 - 2017

BSc in Business | NYC Campus

Finance, Operations, Accounting; Minor in Physics

It's tough to sum up my NYU experience. I'll start by saying I'm grateful for having gone and think I am better for it. I'm a member of the Haskin's Giving Society and think NYU (especially Stern) does a great job of helping you get a job.

I think I'm just less of a fan of formal education and have learned more through work and projects. But regardless, professors like Andrea Bonezzi, and the city itself make NYU a great school.
